You will have a great time. One of the best cities in the world, at leat i think so. I have been to Venice a few times since I lived in Italy for 5 years. I am going to Milano on Thursday to see a soccer match on Saturday. Just Finalizing the tickets for airline and stadium. Should be sick. For those who dont know AC Milan is playing Inter Milan and its a classical match every year. But anyway try to watch a game if you have the time. If your into sports, you will love a soccer match, gets very rowdy. But good luck.

Kevin, I was told to watch out for vendors that will rip off tourists. Hopefully I won't get sucked into it. Do you have any pics?

Thanks for the wishes GThIrtYFiZle.

Heya - ya, just avoid the obvious ones like the Venetian Mask guys. If you do a Gondola ride remember that the price is determined by the towns tax then the gondoliers markup, so during the day you should be able to get one for ~$80 and at night ~$100, that's for 40 minutes and not on the Grand Canal. You can haggle with them and they will move on price; I guarantee the first price they give you will be like $200. :)

All and all it wasn't as bad as my first post made it out to be, but it is *very very* crowded, so just be ready for it is all.

Pics will be coming soon, we have over 2000 pics of the trip, so it's going to take some time to sort through em! Have fun!

I posted some quick Venice picks for PDT; just going through that city was like :O, over 400 from there alone, and we went to 10 cities. As for the new ride, let's just say I am very depressed having left it! :D

Random Venice pics:

Just what you would expect, Grand Canal looking at San Maria's (which is amazing, btw).

San Marco during the day, it was morning, at noon I'd guess there are 15 or 20x as many people in it.

We checked it out at 4am to see if we could get it with no people. No luck, even at 4am it was busy!

The Pegeons are a tourist attraction, there are literally tens of thousands, and vendors sell food so that they land (and ****) all over you. Then everyone claps and they fly in giant circles and crap all over everyone.

Canal-y. Pretty much every canal looks like this.

There are so many statues in Venice that these guys scare tourists all day. People walk by and they go "BOO", it's delightful. :D

Beautiful pics Kevin. Thanks for sharing!! I cannot wait!! :D

How's the weather in Venice now?

Btw, the pic of San Marco at 4 AM, I think you captured some guy that had a few too many drinks!

Thanks again!

The weather for our whole trip was absolutely unbelievable, especially in Italy. Since it's fall I am sure it can change fast; a small system did move through the day after we left - but for us it was great. ~20's and sunny every day. Venice is a bit wet (humid) for obvious reasons, nothing like here, but it's the only place we saw mosquitos, so try to keep your windows closed in the hotel; we learned the hard way. They don't do screens there. :)

RE: the guy. I didn't even notice him haha. I wouldn't doubt it, if the Italians do one thing right it's wine! Cheers.
