Question Need Gift Ideas

I am hoping to get some ideas from you guys regarding an xmas present for my father. My father has always wanted to visit the Canadian Rockies, he has literally talked about it for years. He has decided that he is taking next June off and driving out there in their 36ft motorhome.

I want to get him an xmas present that would be useful for his trip but I haven't really came up with any ideas yet. I would love to get him a Garmin, but that is just way more money than I am looking to spend. Any ideas guys??

Sounds like agreat trip.
FWIW A CAA membership so he can get their triptics. I think that's what it's called. Plans aroute for you and tells about the area and road construction. Found it useful. Also gives you maps and travel guides etc of the areas you travel though.

Heck, The Garmin instantly came to mind until I read the rest of your post. Didn't you pick one up for yourself a while ago. If you did, give him yours you are getting Nav in the New car.
The other alternative would be to visit one of the bigger motorhome Dealers and see what they have that might be suited for your Dad on his trip.

That will be a great trip for him. I have been to BC a lot of times but I have never driven there. K and I were planning that in another 2 years, that would be a nice way to see part of Canada.

BC and alberta are a nice drive, but getting through Manitoba and saskachewan can be a real challenge with out the lane departure warning system to tell you when you're sleeping .

Shane do you know what part of BC he is planning to visit? Also what kind of activities do you think he will enjoy in the mountains?

Hmm, a CAA is a really good idea. I think I will check into it and see what the membership includes. Thanks for the idea Sam.

Nope, I don't have a Garmin Wayne. If I had one, I definitely would give it to my father. I would love to get him one for xmas, but with the baby on the way I can't spend that much. Another thing I would love to get him would be two plane tickets to Toronto with tickets to LMC. It would be great father/son trip. Again, it would be more than I am looking to spend.

My father has never been out west, but has always wanted to go. He has always gone south for vacations. I am glad to see that he is finally doing it. My parents purchased a brand new 36' Motorhome last year so it's a great way to travel out there.

Christian, he will be spending time in both Alberta and BC. I think the biggest thing he wants to do is just do alot of sightseeing. Visiting the National parks, camping in the mountains, things like that.

I really like the CAA idea Sam had.....It's affordable and with the plus coverage, very comprehesvie and flexible. The side benefits are excellent and the package affords a trouble/stress free trip.

My family always has that coverage if the new car coverage has expired.

Perfect Sam!.....you're on the ball

C.
