Keep in mind that the reflection off the chrome would not only affect other drivers but your vision as well.

I can't imagine trying to keep it clean. If you've ever owned a stainless steel refrigerator you know what I mean. Fingerprints and smear marks galore...

 

First time I looked at those pics, Giddyup, they didn't show....so for those who can't see them here's one as a thumbnail .....

Yeah another that you'd think would be way too shiny to be legal for the street.

Whether it's chrome, I'm not sure, but I also heard that it is aluminum... ... I did find this though:

"Because of the fact that it is impossible to polish plastic parts like front and rear spoiler, mirror house, side sill-board or also fuel tank cap, they were enameled in a complex way to get a chrome effect. Finally they were polished with clear varnish."
