EXTREMELY URGENT

It has just recently started snowing and I found that it is almost impossible to drive a g35 coupe (brembos) in the winter. So being a newbie, I have only started considering snow tires now and as I immediately called the dealers, most have said that they can only offer the 17' packages. What should I do? What are you advices? Could anyone PLEASE help? I read the previous post and it seems some have got the 18' snow tires (LM22?) for roughly 1200? Where can I get there? What are my options? Thank you very much. (kind of panicing now)

I agree that Jerry Liu at Yorkville Infiniti is #1 ... knowledgeable and helpful (and not related to me).

Re: EXTREMELY URGENT

the smallest winter wheels you can put on a coupe with brembos is 17"

a set of 4 with Pirelli W210 or Bridgestone Blizzaks will cost just under $2000
if you want to be chinsy, you can get cheaper tires like hankook or something and the package will be closer to $1500.

it will probably not be worthwhile in terms of safety and cost to switch to 18" winter tires every year.

Re: EXTREMELY URGENT

So to reconfirm, the lowest possible price for the Blizzak LM 22 are at least 1800? Other fellow owners just somehow had the connections to get below that? Also, if I were to go to a shop to buy these tires, what is the exact model and sizez for the Blizzak? thanks (just so I know what I'm talking about to the person)

Re: EXTREMELY URGENT

Most of the place i've asked are run out of the 18s LM22. Before i've asked Wheel-Direct and Redline Automotive, they were selling for around 1200, however, they run out of stock few weeks ago. So i gues it is too late to go with the 18s route. I don't know why they quote you 1800, but for sure it should be much cheaper, or maybe because this is a special order since from what i know most of the shop i've asked said that all the 18s LM22 run out in Ontario or even Canada. (At least Bridgestone Canada doesn't have it in stock) If that's the case, 1800 for LM22, you might want to consider getting the 17s. I think Jerry has the eagle six spokes that will clear the brembo for 2020. I'm still waiting patiently on the non-brembo BSA 264 from Jerry. Anyhow, you better get it quick, since i heard wheel for brembo is running out fast, and snows are coming real soon.

Re: EXTREMELY URGENT

I purchased my 4 LM22's last year (all 225/45/18) from talontire in Montreal. I paid around $1200 including tax and shipping.

Re: EXTREMELY URGENT

Dude,
Relax..u sound like a woman. hehe. Theres no reason to panic! lol. Its silly to get 18' winter tires and rims, theres no need. People need to realize that they are too large of a tire, thus will greatly reduce handling. Absolutely, you buy a G35c, there is no option not to buy winter tires. Absolutely impossible to drive this car in bad winter conditions. Or u just store it away. The tire is too wide. The compound is poor for Winter driving too. People like myself with a 5ATG35c can get away with 16' tires and rims, however 5MT can only go as low as 17' because the large Brembos do not allow for a smaller tire.

Re: EXTREMELY URGENT

stock one come with 225/50/17 front, 235/50/17 rear.
if comparing the 215/50/17 with the stock rear, there will be around 3% difference in diameter, which will caused the speedometer to be 3% off, which is not a big deal so it should be ok. But 4 pirelli (i assume you are talking about the W210) 215/50/17s for 1200 is way too expensive. It is around 220 canadian on most of the online tire store. So they are charging you 200 for installing or even more.

Re: EXTREMELY URGENT

hey galay,
I've been researching this topic for over a month now. the 18 inch blizzak's are pretty much sold out, if not it should be around 280-300 a tire installed, anything more and you're paying too much (active green and ross on yonge/cummer had a set 2-3 weeks ago but not a staggered set). I got an excellent deal on 17 inch graphite eagles and hankooks for 1250+tax. I've driven a couple days in the snow and the tires are great and V rated so no compromise in speed on the dry days. If its cash you're concerned about then i highly recommend this combo. For me i couldn't justify paying $500-600 more just for brand name tires. Finally, alta has 17's with dunlop graspics, not the best tire but it will do the job in the snow for $1499+tax.

if you want the contact of where i got my wheels let me know

03 G35 coupe SS (GD) 6spd everything but navi, borla exhaust
02 QX4 pearl white
00 528 Silver on black
