Apparently, some guy named Henry Woodward first patented the light bulb in 1874.......or at least the radio show I was listening to said so. I always thought it was Edison myself but I guess that's not true.

Cool post Shane. I guess we could add hockey to that list in addition to goalie mask.

Yep, Hockey is definitely on the list of Canadian inventions. I just did a google search to find out where in Canada Hockey was invented and I found this:

"Two towns claim that the first game of hockey was played there. The first is Kingston, Ontario, and the second is a small town in New Brunswick, both of which are in Canada."

And on the note of Hockey......don't forget to tune into the World Junior Semi finals today at 9:30 am est. Looking forward to Canada kicking USA's butt!!

Wasn't Edison or Woodward (Woodward patented an improved design and sold the rights to Edison) they only improved upon the idea. It was an English guy.http://www.enchantedlearning.com/inv...ightbulb.shtml

Shane, I thought they always said Long Pond, Windsor, Nova Scotia was the birthplace of Canadian Hockey. Karen and I stopped there when we visited you guys in 05.
