Hey Guys,

ok, so i read the sticky on car washes and still have some questions!

so in the winter time, all i do is go to a car wash and put in $2 and spray off the dirt, salt, etc....

n the summer time, i will wash the car at the car wash but wash it myself and put in like $4 wash it, using my own sponge, etc and then hand dry...

has anyone ever used the petro canada car washes? are these bad for the paint on our cars??...i planned to use the petro car wash when i was feeling lazy to wash it myself.

thanks!

Here in Cambridge, the Petro-car washes are not touchless, tho I use one on my Acura (POS)...... -- but definitely not the INfiniti..

As Kevin has said b4, these places use very strong detergents, very old, stale, dirty water, and the guide rails scratch your rims.......
so if you use one be very careful and at least make sure the rims won't make contact with the rails.-- the very low profile wheels and tires will for sure.

A better idea would be to go to the local coin operatred self spray places and just get the worst of the crud off the sides and wheel wells....

On my 03 Coupe I had, I used to never hand wash and used petro all the time....thought it was okay...turns out only the one that i went to was okay. I went to another and all 4 rims got scratched by the guides. I was so pissed... will never make that mistake again. I've got an 06 right now and have only hand washed ...

My 2 cents

They'll mess up your rims. Find a good hand-spray wash. Where are you located?

I use Sunoco Eco Wash-no rails, you drive in and wash is going around the car. It is touchless. Soap can be a bit harsher than what we use in hand wash in summer, but it is probably less damaging than road salt.
It is $12 for top of the line was.
