Marine Atlantic Ferry Anyone??

Check this out. This is a Marine Atlantic Ferry (North Sydney to Port Aux Basques, Newfoundland). I took a 45 minute ferry from Spain to Morocco last year and both my wife and I came very close to throwing up.........and it wasn't anywhere close as rough as this. I'd be sick as a dog if I was on this.

My dad sent this to me this morning. That thing is really rocking as it leaves the dock further to sea.

When I was on it the water was more like a babies bum.

THanks for reposting it.

That is freakin unreal, that ferry is almost coming out of the water. I think I would be talking on the big white telephone most of that trip .

You notice that it's about 8 seconds crest to crest.
That thing comes out like Mobey Dick coming up for air.

Damn, Shane........I've always wanted to see 'The Rock', and wondered how that trip on the Ferry would be......LOL, I get queezy just watching that.....baaaarf.......
Think I might be pursuaded into taking a plane if that's what it's like on the sea.

It's amazing how Mother Nature can toss a ship like that around so easily.

It's not usually too bad although there have been many times it has been cancelled due to weather. My parents were on it when Hurricane Juan hit here but it didn't end up being too bad up that way.

Deane, I am surprised that they wouldn't cancel the ferry service completely in seas that rough. I would be scared as heck if I was on that ferry with those seas.

Looking at that video it would seem the seas would have to be extremely violent since that one wasn't cancelled. I wouldn't be too keen on being out in water that choppy either. That's definitely at the point you would really wonder about the cargo(cars) shifting around since they're not tied down.

If you go to youtube with this video and read the comments that were posted it says this video of the ferry is actually one that is overseas.
For the life of me I still can't fathom going out in those conditions with a ferry .

That makes sense to me Wayne. I think safety would be more prevalent here. I can't recall hearing or seeing anything of that like that for a passenger ferry locally.

Haha wow that is something else. My wife can't even handle a bus ride, I think she would explode on that thing.
