Question Need Help for Transfering files from a MAC to a PC

Guys,

A friend of mine needs to transfer files from a MAC to a PC. What does he need to do this?

I'm not totally computer friendly so I couldn't offer any advice to him.

Thanks for any info you can give me!!

Bill

Make sure the Mac and the PC are connected to the same network device.

Option 1:

Go to System Preferences / Sharing on the Mac. Check the box, "PC File Sharing" or something like that. It will give you the network address of the mac, which you just plug into windows, by going to the start menu -> run.

Should be something like: \\dhcp-xxxx.xxxx.xxxx\xxxx

Option 2:

Right click a folder on the PC and Share it.
On the mac, from the finder GO menu, go to "Connect to server."
Type in smb://ip address of the PC/sharename
