WHAT THE, Some one selling equipment from my work place so that's where the last shipment went to.

I am not going to say that is a good deal or not just because I have employee discount, but I will say it is a good laptop as long a it is not graphic intensive.

Well the ones that we get at work are the T60 core solo with the crappy integrated Intel graphics. (I couldn't believe they cheaped out as the core duo was only $100 more on the external website) This one that white_gts is listing comes with ATI x1300 should be pretty decent for graphics / gaming.

I really dont care if this sells. I'm just doing my friend a favor and listing it up for him.

Employee discount? Hmmm that must be sweet. I hope you get atleast 3-40% though.

What do you two do at IBM? Is it the branch off of Steeles and Warden? I'm trying to look for a new job right now. Do you guys have any IT jobs open? Is it true that IBM makes you leave the company after 2 years or they halt your positon after 2 years and make you leave for a bit then you can come back? Don't know where I heard that but thats what I heard in the past. Sounds dumb but thats why I'm asking...

I am a reg, sysadmin with the strategic outsourcing division out of 3600 Steeles. The 2 year thing is for contractors only, under certain situations the 2 year contract can be extended for another 1 or so. I beleive there is some labour law, that after 2 years you basically have to treat the contractor as a reg with full benefits etc so that is why they let them go after 2 years. Also they like to keep a certain percentage as contractors, so when cost cutting time comes they are the first to go. But they also make much more money than the regs. We were just looking for a contractor for our dept, I was helping with the interviews. I told my T/L that I wanted to quit and they can hire me back as a contractor with higher pay

Hmm I guess that that 2 year situation is true. Well if you folks have any opening in your department within IT let me know.

What kind of work are you looking for? I'm at IBM based out of the Steeles office (but I'm mobile). PM me with what type of work you are looking for and what your qualifications are in terms of experience and education. I can ask around to see if we're hiring in my group.
