Thumbs up Wheels are in motion!

So *hopefully* within the next couple of weeks I can be a proud G35 owner.
I've decided that I'll get standard and learn it as I go..I have a friend checking out some cars for me so I hope this will all be a go soon!

I did the same thing, tough car to learn from the start but after you master it, any other standard car will be cake....

Def not the easiest car but not the hardest either. The good amount of torque low down makes it fairly forgiving and almost makes up for the slight on/off clutch take up.

I learned many years ago to drive standard first on a motorcycle. I bought a bike that a friend drove home for me, learned that evening before leaving the next day for a 1600km road trip to Minneapolis.

Get the extended warranty, LOL!!

Good luck in the hunt.

When my sister was looking to buy her first car (at age 18) she had never driven standard, other than my 94 Z28. Let me tell ya, she learned quick, hehehe...

On the day her Mazda Protege was delivered, she couldn't drive it home. She was worried and had me drive it for her. For the next month and a half, I would drive to her house, ride with her to work, go to the office and then come back and pick her up - while she was in the car, she would drive. She did really well and is so glad that she did it. All her friends were jealous that she was the only one that could drive stick. I was and still am wildly proud of her for being so open to learning - it was a fun experience.

Get a good teacher and take your time - you'll pick it up quickly, I'm sure.

Good luck! As mentioned above, post pics once available.

To learn shifting manual transmission, you don't need to step on "too much" throttle on this car before you let the clutch out (especially on level road surfaces). I recommend learning without shoes on. That way you can feel the sensitivity of the pedals better. The drive-by-wire throttle is pretty sensitive. Hopefully that helps!
