Tint and keyfob questions inside.

Hey fellas,

Haven't been very active as of late...work sleep drive work sleep..... you know how it goes. Car is treating me well, although I haven't been driving it much due to the snow and I know what you're thinking "why'd you buy winter tires?" I much prefer my beater cuz I'm less worried about everyone else slamming into me. Other than that, can't wait for summer to cruise around endlessly!! (assuming we get our gas stations filled up by then )

Now I have a couple questions for you guys that might be basic, but I tried searching for my particular scenario, but came up with nothing that was relevant.

Keyfob - So the other day, the 'lock' button from my keyfob broke off . Looks like one of the little tabs that hold it in place broke. Question is: Is this my problem or the dealerships? Do I go into the dealership aggressively and expect a fight, or is this a "no problem sir, we will fix it right away and we are sorry on behalf of Infinity and Nissan". Should I pull out the "I pay so much a month...." and "I was gonna get the '08...." ? Is this covered under warranty?

Tint - I asked about this already and am ready to go for it! The only questions I have is, in the even that I need the tint removed, how easy/expensive is this to do? The concern is that my salesperson said the dealership wouldn't mind at all if I throw a tint on it as long as it is a legal tint and it would make it even more desirable if they were to resell it. Of course, I have a hard time believing car salesmen (no offense to anyone) so I wanna make sure that if I do get a tint and have to get it removed, it would be at a reasonable cost.

Thank you guys for the help and don't forget to wave when you see a fellow G35 zoom by!

Troy

Troy, I think the dealer is the one to give you the exact answer on the key fob. However my guess is you are within the full warranty and it wouldn't be considered a wear item so should be replaced n/c.

Concerning the tint are you asking because you lease? In either case bought or leased the tint can be removed so no problem either way.

Yes, I will call the dealer about the keyfob tomorrow, I just wanted to get an idea of how my attitude should be. And yes, I ask about the tint because I am leasing and don't want any trouble when I return it Thank you for the swift response

I've tinted the last 7 cars that I've had and they were all leases. I've never had a problem returning any of them.

Tint removal can be done if neccessary, but it's a pain in the ***....I used to be part owner of a tint shop and taking it off sucks!

Let me know if you need a good shop....my brother still owns it.

Removing the tint is possible, the only thing the tint shop doesn't guarantee is the rear defroster strips.

Well to put it in perspective. I paid $250 for my tint all around and if i were to take it off and then reapply with a darker tint, IIRC it was $375 or so. So my guess is $125?

I will ask my tinter tomorrow for you as I have to call him on some warranty work with his recent tint on my car.
