Hi folks,

Anyone out there with just the base model 2007 G35 sedan without any factory options - i.e. without the Canadian 'touring package' option? (I sure see a lot of Sports and X's and premium packages...lucky dogs )

Anyway, the base w/o options is what I've ordered, and I know I'll love the vehicle, but have a couple questions as I'm waiting...

They didn't have any base models when I was shopping/test driving so I was unable to 'see for myself' what comes with the base (seems everything in Canada at the time was a Sport or an X).

I've had conflicting answers as to standard 'base' content. One dealer says one thing, the Infiniti.ca site says another, the order spec sheet says another.

Soooo, questions:

1. Windows: Order spec sheet says auto-down only. Infiniti.ca site says auto up/down (and of course front only).

2. Audio: Order sheet says audio comes with RDS. Infiniti.ca site does not mention.

3. Bluetooth: Infiniti.ca site says Bluetooth standard on all G35 models. Order sheet doesn't say. One dealer says yes, but 'not the full capability as included with option package'. Another sales rep said no, none at all.

4. Steering Wheel: If there is no Bluetooth, then are there still the 'phone buttons' on the steering wheel? (every picture I see has the phone buttons on the lower left of the steering wheel 'hub' - though some also have extra buttons on the hub).

I don't have a base model but can certainly provide you with some answers. I would think that a Base model would be kind of hard to come by, but just guessing. Anyways, hope this helps.

1. One touch for both up and down, but for front windows only
2. RDS comes with all models, including the base model
3. Bluetooth is not available on the base model. You would need to get the Touring Package for Bluetooth
4. No phone button will exist on the steering wheel.

Weird (and frankly irritating) that the site shows Bluetooth under the section of "Features included on Every Infiniti G35". Misleading ato say the least - not that it would have changed my thinking on the vehicle itself. See: http://www.infiniti.ca/en/dynamic_fe...s.asp?series=G

Yup - balancing budget left me with the base.

But frankly even the base is one hell of a deal based on the vehicle you get at that base price vs. IS250 or BMW 3 series. Given the car itself, I'm fine with passing on the SOW audio, dual zone a/c, extra 4 ways for the passenger seat, and some other "nice to have's" (not that I wouldn't like to have them). Though I know I'll miss the Homelink and the auto on/off headlights.

You're right, base was hard to find - only two were out there, both black. Which was ok with me since it's one of my faves and it looks great (clean). Though I was looking at the Garnet and the Graphite as first choices because I actually think they show the lines of the vehicle better.

Yeah, that definitely makes it appear that Bluetooth is included in even the Base model G35. In Canada, the Touring package is required, and in the US the Premium package is required for Bluetooth. This was always my understanding at least.

If you don't mind waiting about 3 months, you could always order the color that you want if you decide against Black Obsidian. That or see if the dealership can locate a base model in the color your want from another dealership. Infiniti projected only 12% of 07 G35 sales to be base models, so I guess that is why they may be hard to find.
