Heavy deep snow yesterday and last night. High winds gusting to 100km. It's not a pretty spring picture out there.

Yeah, we've had so little snow and mostly a green winter... then a 25cm dump on April 7. I can't recall ever having that much snow this late in the year that will likely take a while to melt.

We're way past due for some warmer weather.

It is a ridiculous amount. I'm hoping for warmer weather to get rid of it.

For about half an hour last night it was coming down faster with bigger flakes than I can ever recall seeing. All that snow came in about 5 hours.

Yuck! Let's hope we break the back on this anti-spring weather shortly.

While today in Ontario was nothing compared to your east-coast dumping, I left Toronto to drive north to Midland for a big family Easter dinner. Only a few flurries in the city when I left, but halfway up the ground had all this white stuff on it, the road spray was getting gross, and upon arrival they had at least a couple inches on the ground.

While I was happy to put a few more clicks on the board on the way to break-in nirvana, it was killer to have all that crap slopping around and up there they use sand (not salt) so pebbles were kicking up all over the place. Grrrr.

On a positive note, I did smile as a number of the folks kept looking out at the new car and commented on how cool it was. And I noted that even with the road spray, there was still a shine coming through. (Zaino sealant letting a lot of the crap roll off and still letting it look relatively clean?). Nice.

One last piece of fun...man it's nice to be back in a rear wheel drive! Some of the county roads had a layer of snow on them from blowing across the fields. A little kick of the throttle on a couple turns gave me a nice fun little tail waggle (and the VDC worked beautifully to manage the entusiasm )

Wow, that's a ton of snow for only 5 hours. It is supposed to warm up a little later this week, but still below average for this time of year.

Looking ahead next week it appears warmth is on the way. I would like to see some good old Maritimes fog for a few days to help chew up the snow we have.

Yech, that's not great Shane. It just wants to drag on this year. We're expecting to get 2-4 cms tonight and heavy rain tomorrow am. Nice mess.

It's reading 16 degrees in the shade here now. The weather channel says 8 but that's probably from the Eastern Passage station right on the harbour. Going for a drive shortly.

Stay safe with the summers.
