Coupe Midpipe Swap

I have an '04 M6 Sedan. I hear swapping the coupe midpipe in place of the sedan pipe is a popular mod to lose some weight, gain a minor amount of power (probably negligible), and allow the sedan to sound a bit more like the coupe. To me, the coupe has one of the best exhaust notes on the road today. I almost bought the coupe because of the sound, but the sedan's space and value won out.

Does anyone have a coupe midpipe, or know where a guy can pick one up?

I'm in the Greater Vancouver area...

Thx,
out

If you're expecting coupe tunes... I'm afraid you will be dissapointed.

You will loose weight & gain a little more volume.
You'll have to change the muffler to change the music.

Thanks. I realize that a sedan will never have quite the same sound as the coupe. That's why I said "sound a bit more like the coupe". I have been told that the exhaust note does improve with the coupe midpipe, if but a minor amount.

I'm not interested in major mods, or replacing the mufflers which are perfectly functional. From what I've heard the coupe midpipe swap is extremely easy and inexpensive and is considered a minor mod.

Anyone know where I can find one?

they do pop up fairly often.

Also check out some of the old threads on the install.
There are some minor issues with support brackets & heat shields, that can get in the way.
No biggie but nice to get looked after when installing.
