Congrats Ian. That definitely brought back some great and at the same time not so great memories of that track.

Corner #2 was amazing coming over the hill and all you see is trees and the road seems to go straight down to the left. Definitely pucker power there.

Corner 5c is where I had my trouble in the rain. I was on the race line (dry line) because they told me that the track was good to go, when actually I should have been on the wet line away from the rubber on the track. Oh well live and let learn.

I still had a blast when the track was dry. I managed to get a good 12-15 laps in before the rain.

Glad to hear you had fun and that everything went without a hitch.

Honestly Ian that was a great write up, as Whatacar said when I read it my adrenilin started pumping, sounds so exciting.
Is it true that one guy did smash his car up that weekend, I thought I read that somewhere.

My instructor was Brad, he was down from Ottawa.

We had a blast...
One particular time I just nailed turn 2... the tires were singing a steady tune & as we carved past the 2nd apex out to the exit turtle.....
All I could hear was Brad yelling YES YES YES... Damn that was good!

Yeah, some of them are horrible...one event I actually saw 5 cars go off within the same lap. There was a Civic that was trying to divebomb down my inside for a couple of corners and I wanted no part of it. On the next turn, I took a wide entry and let him through. Sure enough he went in too deep and used the side of a Z3M just in front of me as his brake.

 

Some people. I haven't personally experienced a private lapping session but could completely understand how easily that stuff can happen.

I'm with Ian on that one unless you know and trust all of the other people.

 

I am insanely jealous at this moment, Ian. Nice writeup!

 

So who's in for next weekend? Finally had time to prep the car and *crossing fingers* it looks like I'm good to go for THREE DAYS AT MOSPORT!!!!
