Good mechanics in GTA?!?

Hello Guys..
So I am about to get my 04 G35 Coupe tomorrow after work...

since it already has 88000km on it.. i am wondering if anybody can recommend me a good independent carshop with reasonable price and good customer service so i can do my regular maintenance there..

I personlly dont like going back to dealers simply because all the dealers look like nothing but big rip-offs to me...

thanx!!

I second Simone Performance, got all my suspension work done there. Both Steve and Vic are knowledgeable and take care of their customers. Will be there next weekend to install my shortshifter.

Another HUGE +10000 for Vic Simone.

Vic is an amazing guy, as soon as you walk into his shop you feel like you're his most important customer.
Vic is one of those guys that just loves his work.

& Guess what..... Vic does Bimmers too. (sort of)
Since I dropped the Z on H&Rs, I've had quite a time finding a decent shop to do a quality alignment.

Shop1 - A well known BMW performance shop, that builds a LOT of track cars.
= totaly botched job; partially antiquated equipment, ....partially a tech that did't give a rats behind.

Shop2 (recommended to me) - A few days later, to correct shop1.
Wouldn't let me stay in the shop... 1st bad sign.
The tech seemed like a good guy & tried hard but didn't really know the car.
& from the print out, I could tell the equipment didn't have the resolution required. (must have been one of the very 1st laser machines)
The car became extremely twitchy as limits were explored.

Shop3 Vic Simone - What a difference!!!!
Here is a Nissan specialty shop, that took the time to find out the proper alignment proceedure for BMW. (none of the other guys bothered)
- full tank of gas
- add 50lb weight in the trunk
- add 150lb each, in driver & passenger sides
Vic says it's to simulate the downforce on the car at speed.

During the alignment Vic was super fussy, and wasn't satisfied until he had it just the way I wanted.

Driving home, I hit a few of my local twisties...
I couldn't believe I was driving the same car.

SO... if you need any, non-dealer work done on your car;
I HIGHLY recommend the trip to see Vic, it's worth the drive to Newmarket!!!!

Awesome story Ian. I love to hear stories like that about people who have a passion for their business and in looking after customers. Especially companies that deal with enthusiasts and perfectionists. Great that your car is working perfectly.

We'll see if I can get the same satisfaction tomorrow with my car. In the meantime I have to put up with this M35X.

I take it I can go to Simone for regular maintenance too? Beats going to Willowdale Infiniti or the other one in NewMarket.

Heck, I still belong to a Maxima site and they always have rave reviews on Vic Simones work also.
I think I am going to make it a point to stop and check out his shop when I'm passing through.

It sure was a pleasure to deal with Vic.

It's just too bad that you have to work your way through "highly recommended" shops,
to find a place like Vic's.

G35Bills and others have been talking about Vic for a long time;
I'm happy to be a client now too
