TPMS Sign on ....Help !
Hey guys , Need some help here ..I installed my new set of 20' Maya DLS wrapped with Toyo T1r (245/35/20 and 275/30/20) yesterday drove around normally...everything was good ...but today when I was driving, the TPMS light went on ...I stopped by the Gas station to get some air ...(it was at 40 Psi..suppose to be 50 Psi on all 4) is that the rite Psi? anyways, after refilling air ..the light r still on...I checked the owners manual ..it says check with the dealers ???? on ignition the light blinks for roughly a min or so and then eventually stays on ...?? I dont know whats wrong, Im going to visit the dealer tommorow, but I thought I mite see if anyone has experienced this before??? Any suggestion or inputs are welcomed ...

You probably didn't buy the TPMS sensors for the new Mayas, correct?
-- there's the reason for the warning light......
You need to switch the sensors over from the OEM's to the new Maya's, buy new sensors (they're expensive),or just leave it the way it is and ignore the warning light.
Tire pressure: 50psi is the maximum pressure allowable for those tires and has nothing to do with normal pressure for normal operation and load.
Now you have way over-inflated your tires that should be inflated to 35psi.
For normal inflation pressures, check the white sticker inside the driver's side door opening.
Don't forget to bleed down those tires to about 35 psi b4 driving again.
50 psi is too high and could be dangerous for you.

Do we still follow the white sticker PSI when changing tire sizes as well. I recently went from 235 to 245 tires and found 33 PSI way too low. Is there any guideline for what pressure to use when not OEM size.

It also varies depending on tire make. (some have softer sidewalls, etc)
Generally OE spec +1 is a good starting point.

I am now up to 36 psi and still find the sidewall softer than the OEM Goodyear NCT that came with the car. The new SP Sport Maxx are supposed to be Ultra Performance yet I find the car still does not feel as stable into turns as my OEM tires which were sport touring. How does one look up the sidewall stiffness rating for a tire.

If my sensor light never went off (and the TPMS were obviously not on my winters) does that mean the dealer turns off something and now with my summers on, do I have to somehow turn it back on?
Over the winter, I did get one warning light on TP, but it went away right after. So I didn't really thing about it.

especially after changing sizes.

I'm getting the G done next week so have to read up on some settings for mine.
The dealers r all closed now ...but for now Im going to bring the PSi dwn to about 36 psi ..recommended by my mechanic ...I will still visit the dealers after the weekend ...will see what they say ...but I hrd that our Psi should be between 28 and 36(cold air) ...no less no more ... lets see ..!

28 psi would be too low and potentially unsafe to drive. That's the pressure the TPMS comes on at with the coupe. On the sedan it's 25psi.
As InTgr8r says that would change for larger tires moving pressure up slightly. As well when you run snows you'll increase the pressure up too mostly because of the softer sidewall and tire tread squirm.

I recently swapped my spare up to the front ... the TPM light started blinking yesterday and was solid after about a minute of blinking (per user manual) ... it went away after a while but today it started doing it again ... does the spare have the TPMS? Or do I need to do something about it?
