FYI: I-KEY Information

Don't know if any '07 G35 owners got this letter lately....

If not, just, an FYI that Infiniti is recommending to keep your I-key separated from your cell phone (and by the way any other electronic equipment) at least 1 inch apart. If your I-key ends up disabled, the key cannot be reprogrammed. You will have to rely on your second set. Luckily, they are planning to release new sets of I-keys later this fall.

Too bad, they didn't mention which cell phones cause this trouble. Anyway, just some information.

I'm keeping my keys locked in the safe!

Yep, I got my letter not too long ago. I haven't had any issues so far, but I've never kept my i-key close to my cell phone either.

BTW, this doesn't affect the "M". The system for the "M" is manufactured by a different vendor.

TNX Lowrider but they did warn me when the car was new to be careful not to have credit cards, other keys, and like transmitters within a short distance. (when I had one of my keys lose its program).
This sounds similar and at least sounds like these 'toys' are at least somewhat sensitive.

Thanks for the info that the keys for the G and M are different tho......
