Hey guys... just a question for those gta owners out there:

How many of you have your licence plate NOT mounted on the front? The only reason I ask is that in a few weeks I’m going to be picking up my 07 sedan and I rather not have it mounted because it ruins the look of the bumper. For those of you that don’t have it mounted, have you had any issues getting pulled over? Thanks in advance!

I got pulled over the second day without mine. The cop made me sit for ~50 minutes before issuing me a ticket. The entire time his parter asked me how "such a young guy can afford such a nice car", it was really awesome. Highly recommended.

The ticket was $110. I fought it and got it dismissed, but honestly the time spent sitting there, along with the time spent going to the courthouse to fight it wasn't worth having the no front plate. I've mounted mine since then. I hate it, but I just can't deal with being pulled over every few weeks for it.

I'd strongly suggest bitting the bullet and fixing your front plate.

I purchased my car from Montreal (no front plates there) and I thought i'd go about without one as well until recently i've been pulled over 3 times in 1 month.

Cops really seem to be cracking down on it, no more "fix-it" tickets, i've already been issued 2.

Needless to say I smartened up and installed it.

 

damn i didnt think it was that bad... so i guess i'll just get it mounted

Just don't drill holes into the bumper. Zip-tie it to the grill if you have to.

 

I tried it on my last car....after 4 tickets I put it back on. Not worth the hassle from the cops.

 

I must have been really lucky. On my last car after putting on a wide mouth front bumper and billet grill, the license plate ruined the look so I left it off. It was like that for at least 2 years and everyone always asked why no plates and how many tickets. Never once got a ticket or pulled over I didn't even stick the plate on my dash. I'm in Sauga and frequent Toronto all the time. Playing it safe now that I'm a little older and wiser LOL.

 

hey klubjunkee... i use to live in mississauga now in oakville so thats good to hear about not getting pulled over for so long but i think im gonna just suck it up and get them to mount the plates. well hope to see you and your g around mississauga, look out for me im gonna be the asian kid driving the ivory pearl g (like thats new) lol

I got pulled over the 2nd week by North York Police. They actually gave me a warning and said to get it fixed by Infiniti asap. He asked where I was coming from b/c I was in uniform and i guess he let me go when I told him I was just on my way home from work and I told him how I was a Dr. at the hospital. I say get it fixed quick. Or at least have the front plate visible on the dash for the meantime.

 

Ever since I put on the Karuma bumper, I have not put the plate up front. Over 3 months now... So far, so good...

Oh, I'm in Ottawa.
