24k maintenance service

Hey Everybody

I was at a stealership y/day for the routine 24k maintenance.
My car is only 1 year old, but I was told that I need to replace
air filter ($69.99), cabin filter ($49.99) and differantial fluid ($89.99).
What do u guys think?

Any suggestion is greatly appreciated.

Air filter - just get your own or put in a K&N :-)

Not sure about the differential fluid though...

Definitely get the differential done if it has not yet been done. The air filter is probably a good idea too at 24K. The in cabin filter is optional especially with only being one year old.

I had these done as well. It was quite expensive...the air filters and labour came out to about $175 and then I found out that I can do my own cabin filter buying from Gordgee...which I should order another soon.

You're not a DIYer?
These things aren't hard to do.... esp the filters.
The diff would be the most difficult... you could probably have an independent shop do it for half that cost.
IIRC it's not scheduled mtce 'till about 100K... but still an excellent idea to get it done.

I agree on the filters. The dif can be a DIY for someone that knows what they're doing. I could not find anywhere in the maintenance guide that said to replace the dif oil in the regular schedule- all the way up to 192k kms. The preferred schedule showed replacement @ 48k kms. The first time I did mine was about 7.3k and it was a grey sludge in there with a 1/4 " gumbo stuck over the entire magnet. I wouldn't have wanted to roll 100k or so with that.

The dealer will have them in stock or probably can be found at many other auto parts stores.

I decided to get the differential fluid change at the dealership.
Do I need to change fluid fr both front and rear differentials? Or
just the rear?

Does your car have a front diff. as well as a rear ? I only did the rear at about 60K, money well spent.

You drive a coupe correct? Only a single diff in the rear of the car.

I hv a 6mt Coupe. So that means its got only the rear differential? That's what I figured.

The guy at Mr.Lube said he's 100% positive my car has 2 (front and rear) which means I hv to pay twice the amount. And that's even after I told him its a G35 coupe 2 D...O...O...R! Same fr an Infiniti stealership! The service
lady there tells me that my coupe has front and back.

WTH?? That is complete utter bs! Good thing I double checked with u guys.
