SUN HYPER GROUND WIRES
SUN HYPER GROUND WIRES
Hey guys/gals!!!
I've managed to aquire a source for engine grounding kits, specifically designed for autos, not the ones manufactured out of stereo wires--- these are the very same ones designed and sold on the Mitsubishi Evo's and NISMO!!!!!!! Here is some information on these sets. They seem to base the fact that the transmission ground is not really required but for those with the need to get these I can. The list price of these wires are: MSRP
Hyper Ground System S-Type $200.00
Let me know the interest in these and I can probably get a nice group pricing on these!!!!

Re: SUN HYPER GROUND WIRES
Do you have in stock, and is there a big dif with them. If so when I bring my car in or it's next service I'll get them put on. How much to install them as well?
Thanks
Thanks
Re: SUN HYPER GROUND WIRES
After installing several sets on the auto version of the G35, I can say it is definately not a "Psychological" improvement,
Rev band seems much smoother, and the car feels like it has more of a positive lively feel to it. There is a thread somewhere in this forum in regards to this modification.
Currently until I get more of these orders the set installed is $280.00 installed plus taxes.
Thanks,
JL

Re: SUN HYPER GROUND WIRES
Remember, some of the cable that is being used, even by the guys making their own kits isn't just speaker wire, though some of it is, and some wire is just junk. Scosche P4 for instance is an automotive application wire that is rated for under-hood conditions of heat and chemical/oil resistance.
Even though Sun Auto's kit uses a slightly different wire from some of the other commercial kits including Stillen, Arospeed, GroundingGear™, HKS, etc., they are by no means the only wire suitable for Hyper-Ground kits. Their 4 layered construction is only on their Gold and Silver kits, so with the exception of the "Shield Mesh" layer (primarily for cosmetics) just below the surface of the jacket, their actual wires are constructed similarly to the others. Like Sun Auto's, Scosche wire strands are also individually coated to minimize oxidation.
Sun Auto' s kits are also generic, not vehicle specific applications. They are used by many of the Performance Auto magazines because of this, so have become very well known as a quality H-G kit. But because of being generic, like HKS and Arospeed, grounding points are sometimes a 'trial and error' process and vary in effectiveness. Some feedback also suggests that engine covers are difficult to refit and the wires lack a 'clean' look due to generic length when installed.
$200 is a very good price, as they are sold locally for $230 to $250.
It's nice to know that some other Infiniti Dealerships have chosen to do H-G installations. Ericksen Infiniti/Nissan has chosen to offer GroundingGear™ for all of their automobiles. Interestingly, they do quite a lot of Frontiers with GroundingGear™.

Re: SUN HYPER GROUND WIRES
Of course I'm biased as I supply some OEM dealers with GroundingGear™ Custom Series kits. I am now coming out with GroundingGear™ Universal Series kits for the performance shops to broaden marketability. My Universal Series compares more than favourably with Sun Auto, but I don't have the millions for advertising/promotion.
From my Vendor Information Brochure:
Why Choose GroundingGear™ ?
GroundingGear™ has been proven in use and on the dynamometer, by users world-wide and by OEM dealerships.
GroundingGear™ is manufactured by an innovative, small High-Performance Automotive company that incorporates the most current theories on Hyper-Grounding technology.
GroundingGear™ does not use a central grounding block which can introduce noise into the system and compromise signal integrity, unlike some other commercial kits. There are more vehicle applications listed for the GroundingGear™ Universal Series kits than any competitive Hyper-Ground kit and allows for easier fitting with the exclusive GroundFitter™ Assessment Tool.
GroundingGear™ receives and considers feedback by actual users, and in consultation with R&D and Engineering team members, is able to quickly make small changes to improve the product and/or instruction sets, unlike the commercial Hyper-Ground kits built on a production line.
GroundingGear™ uses only solid copper lug terminals which minimize the electrical “skin effect” introduced by the use of gold plated terminals. The lugs are installed using a custom designed tool that can apply up to 4000 pounds per square inch to ensure a superior bond and transfer of electrical signal. A sealant is then applied to each joint to further minimize oxygen infiltration to the cable ends.
GroundingGear™ uses 4 gauge cable manufactured in the US by an established leader in automotive wiring accessories, designed to withstand the under-hood environment of the automobile. The Oxygen-free cable strands are plated for appearance and to minimize oxidation. Some competitors use 8 gauge cable.

GroundingGear™ Universal Series kits utilize not only the GroundFitter™ Assessment Tool, but also is a 6 wire kit as opposed to Sun Auto's 5 for the same retail price or less. I feel my instructions are more helpful and the dealers agree.
Of course, the GroundingGear™ Custom Series for the G35 gives the option of 5 to 8 wires (9th under R&D), with optimized lengths to actually fit your G35 and the most concise instructions of ANY G35 kit. One client did a 6-wire install of GroundingGear™ in 15 minutes using my instructions! I get PMs from ppl that bought Sun Auto's, Stillen's and HKS's kits to help them with their installs (which of course I can't help much with due to legal considerations and the differences in design). I'm also reluctant to provide tech support for the knock-off kits made in basements for a quick buck, though I assure you that I get a lot of requests. I will however try to help out if ppl try to make their own.
I've also had a few US clients that have the access to buy any other kit telling me that after comparing GroundingGear™ to the others, chose mine as they felt that it was the best out there. Some have PM'd me saying in retrospect that they would have gone with GroundingGear™ had they not already purchased a competitor's kit. And since I provide kits for G35driver forum members (only G35/350z) for about the same price as Z-Xtreme.com as opposed to retail at the dealers.....
