Looks Like No NHL Team Coming to Hamilton

It looks like Jim Balsillie's bid to purchase the Predators is not going to be accepted. Instead, Leipold looks like he is going to accept a bid that is $50 million less than Balsillie's bid and the team looks like it may be heading to Kansas City. Yay, another NHL team headed to a small market American city that will inevitably fail. Why send a team from one failing US market to another? No wonder the NHL has gone to the sh!tter.

Yeah, tell me about it. IMO, the NHL has been a complete joke since Gary (the useless ****) Bettman has been Commissioner.

Kansas City?!? So they can lose more money than in Nashville because nobody gives a **** about hockey there, either? Whose brainfart was that? Gonna read the article now, but I had to vent first.

Ridiculous. What did I miss about accepting a bid worth way less $$$? Is it a Canada/US thing?

This whole thing really pisses me off. The NHL in their neverending quest to get an American TV contract will put teams anywhere in the States. This deal should have gone ahead and the team should have been moved to Hamilton where it would be a huge success. A pox on Bettman ! !

Damned rediculous the way his bids are being handled.
I'd say Balsillie is being black-balled by the NHL (more specifically - Bettman) and won't allow anyone to sell to him.........Bastard!!!!!

Hamilton is a perfect market for a team and even has the arena (Copps) and an endless line of supporters for a new team and all the other local (Southern ONtario) teams.......

If I were Balsillie I'd tell 'em where to stick their NHL and go after baseball or basketball......

yeah, I've never been a fan of Gary "the ratface" Bettman either - the little midget may have known his stuff with the NBA, but I don't think that doofus knows squat about the good ole hockey game.

I had a feeling that this deal would never go through. There's been talk of a Hamilton team coming, but since it sits in the Bermuda triangle of three huge team markets (Toronto, Buffalo & Ottawa) the governors would never have allowed it to go through. While I agree Kansas City already has the odds stacked against it, I still think Winnipeg could thrive with a new team!
