Is this possible? ECU memory related question

If the car computer is reset, does all the previous memory get completely erased?

Here's the scenario. Two years ago when I bought the car I disabled the daytime running lights by pulling the fuse by the driver's door. Doing this also disabled the forward/backward switch for the seats for some reason, but no big deal. Anyways, a few weeks ago the SRS Airbag light started to flash.

Took it into the dealer today and we put the DRL fuse back in and the airbag light stopped. So problem fixed. We couldn't figure out the reason for this...why would the SRS light start flashing 2 years later if its due to the DRL fuse? The service advisor suggested its possibly due to the ECU, after x amount of times starting the car it remembers the original settings...something along those lines.

Can anyone verify this? I'm a complete noob to electronics so very curious.

Thanks

Just a question.

Why would you want to disable your DRLs?

The car looks a lot cleaner/better without the hideous yellows on
Don't worry though, I usually drive with the full system on unless its absolutely clear and sunny.
