Need Your Opinion On A G35C

A close friend of mine is considering getting a G35C. We just got back from looking at a 2006 G35C with only 23k KMs on it. It's black obsidian with Premium Package, Aero Package, and the Sport Suspension package. The car is in great shape and my friend can purchase it for $35k. The only kicker is that the tires are completely shot and will need replaced right away.

I personally think this is a great deal.......any thoughts?

23k's and the tires are shot, seems like the car was driven hard?

Otherwise, it seems like a great deal.

Has he thought about maybe purchasing one in the USA and importing it to Canada? Seeing as how the Canadian Dollar and USD are almost the same now, maybe that would be a good option? Does Warranty transfer across countries though?

Whats the KBB value for the car in CND?

35k.. tax in?

either way.. that is very cheap.

i see them go for low 40's with that mileage.

It's $35 + tax, however I still think it's a steal. My friend kinda thought the car was probably driven a little hard as well since the tires are shot at that mileage.....this also concerned him a little.

23k KM's is 14291 miles. Even if it was driven fairly hard, 14k miles probably won't do any damage to the car. They are made for performance driving. As long as it still has its factory warranty, I'd say grab it.

That's what I am thinking as well Vasiliy. I wouldn't be too worried myself since he's got lots of warranty left.

Shane, I watch the prices around my Dealers area and that seems like a very good deal for an 06 Coupe. Like others have said, it must have been driven like it was meant to be driven for the tires to need replacing all ready.

As others have said, sounds like a pretty good deal. Is it at an Infiniti / Nissan dealership? If so, I think it's safe to say that the car is in good working order.

Sounds ok to me, Shane...and a great ride....

It's also a good time to check the wear pattern on all the tires especially the fronts to see feathering and uneven wear ......
Not likely the problem exists on the newer rides but a good opportunity just the same....
The car has been driven obviously, like it's meant to be, but have your friend check the maintenace records closely (at the dealer) for compliance and regularity, and assuming that's ok, he should be fine....

Michelin Pilot sports will wear out quickly with spirited driving...
To me, 23k doesn't sound too outrageous at all....

i saw that one as well shane, and was surprised at the price being so low.

i'd make sure to find out if there was ever any damage that could explain the low price. they usually run a good $5k more with that sort of mileage.

FWIW...
I'd highly recommend spending a few bucks & have the car examined by a trusted mechanic.

Hey guys! It's my first post here and looks like I'll be joining the G crowd next Tuesday!

I ended up getting a really good deal on 4 stock sized tires through eBay, they are used, and at 6/7 32nds for just under $400 cdn shipped.

That will be enough to get me through the rest of the season before I decide what wheels to put on her!

Cheers,

- Ron
