Spoiler - Dealer says the no longer manufacture 05 OEM spoiler

Newbie here...just purchased a new '07 coupe and taking delivery later this week. Asked dealer to install '05 OEM spoiler and was told they no longer manufacture the '05 OEM spoiler and only had an aftermarket that was identical. Is this true that they no longer manufacture '05 OEM spoilers? Also, salesperson said he needed to call in an outside spoiler guy to install it. It's hard to believe they are unable to get on OEM spoiler.

That's BS.
They have to maintain parts for X (10?)years after model production stops.

What happens if an '05 is dinged in an accident?

Sounds like they didn't want to be bothered to order one for you.

BS Call their parts dept. ( or another dealer ) and see if they could order one for you. Then give your a piece of your mind ( not a big one mind you ) and call ( and write ) Infiniti Canada and report them.
Personally I would never go back. If they would lie to you about this how could you trust them on any maint. or repair issue.
BTW who are they so I can stay away also?
GL with your spoiler.

Bought the car from Agincourt Infiniti.

Called their parts department to enquire about the '05 OEM and was told it would cost $600+$150( to add Led Lights since it didn't come with it)+install fee of $250. Don't remember the name of the person I spoke to but, he questioned why I would go for an OEM when the aftermarket was just as good. At that point I knew he was giving me the run around.

Eventually went to dealer this afternoon to see the car, ( finally arrived from Montreal ) and spoke to the sales rep and parts manager together. Apprarently they were confused as to the model of spoiler I was looking for and didn't realize infiniti changed the part number and therefore could not find it in the system. Showed them the spoiler from another coupe on the lot and finally was able to get it ordered after some digging through part numbers. "05 OEM Spoiler was ordered and will arrive sometime next week. Still taking delivery of the Thursday and spoiler will be installed the week after.

By the way, called Infiniti Canada to find out if they still manufactured the spoiler and they themselves didn't know the answer. Still waiting for them to call back.

Total BS, I had mine replaced under warranty after quite a lot of back and worth arguing and didn't notice for a few months but they replaced mine with aftermarket. I can defintely say the aftermarket is no where close to OEM quality. Plus I recall seeing the bill for the workorder from the outside company that installs them was around $500 or so where your quote is $1000.

It rattles every time you close the trunk and the fit around the LED is downright sloppy. Only reason I haven't bothered going back to argue is the lease is up in 6 months and I have enough gray hairs already to be bothered.

My OEM '05 spoiler finally came in this week. Scheduled an appointment to have it installed with the dealer body shop. Dropped the car off early in the morning and got a call from them just after lunch. The guys at their shop said that the '05 spoiler is not an exact fit for the '07 coupe and that it could leak or rattle down the road if he installed it. He said that he could install it, but since it wasn't an exact fit, he wanted to warn me that their could be issues later. He recommended getting an '07 OEM for my '07 coupe since the fit would be perfect.

I thought there were no changes to the trunk lid from '03-07. I've read that a lot of people have installed an '05 spoiler on an '06-07 coupe with no issues, but according to the shop, it's not an exact fit. Is it true that an '05 spoiler is not an exact fit for an '07 coupe? Were there any changes to the trunk lid from '05 to '07?

Anyhow, decided to order the '07 OEM spoiler. It will be two weeks until it arrives.

^ I don't know the answer to your question but you may have better response in another forum like body/interior. I would encourage you to find out the true answer. You could probably get the part number for the '05 and '07 trunk lid to see if they are different.

What the dealer is saying smells of BS to me. Stealers or other shops sometimes say stuff like this without knowing. It's just to cover their butt in case there is a problem with their install (and not the product) down the road.

Thanks for all the help and info.

By the way, does anyone have the part # for the trunk lid or know how I can get it.
