Buying tires online

Seeing that the CAN$ is higher than the US$....I was thinking of ordering some tires from the US and picking them up at a US border town....how much duty will be charged on tires once I bring em over the border? Anyone know?
I was thinking of pickin up a set of Kumho's for the wife's van

Any place other than TIRERACK.com?

There are a bunch of tire related threads below that should answer your duty/broker charges.

Just go to tirerack.com, build your shopping cart and go through the first part of the checkout process. It'll let you know what the taxes and duties will be before you enter your credit card info.

go to tiretrends.ca . thay are out in pitt meadows, so no shipping for you. i just had a set of Kumho ASX installed on my G at their shop. it's a bit of a drive from kits, but the savings for shipping pays for that.

A lil quick search online yielded me the following results for 225-40-19 & 245-40-19's.

tiredeals4less.com
225-40-19 T1R were 195.80US
245-40-19 T1R were 198.95US

tirerack.com
225-40-19 Kumho Ecsta SPT were 145.00US
245-40-19 Kumho Ecsta SPT were 154.00US
225-40-19 Bridgestone RE050A were 247.00US
245-40-19 Bridgestone RE050A were 263.00US

Tiretrends.ca
225-40-19 T1R were 304.95CAN
245-40-19 T1R were 318.95CAN

I believe it's about $100 or so for shipping 4 tires thru either tirerack or TD4L.com....and since I live near tiretrends....I can pickup.

I read a lot of good reviews about the Kumho's...and at that price...I can buy an extra 2 tires for the rears!! at tirerack.(I'm leaning towards the Kumho's )

Any thoughs guys??
