Block Heater prices?

Good stuff, you will be glad you did.
I would definitely have the car plugged in during those -50C temps. I plug mine in when it gets -10C or colder.

Good plan Asad. Definitely don't start the car unnecessarily, especially in the cold. The block heater doesn't need to be on all the time unless you don't care about energy use. Just plug it in 3-4 hours before use or use a timer if you're on a more regular schedule. If it's really cold and/or there is a stretch of cold temps leave it on. Otherwise it will take much longer to warm the engine.

LOL, you betcha. I had some RR last night. I'm going to wait another 45 minutes though. Too early and I die by 8pm!!
