Thanks guys. I'm back safe and sound. No damage here at my home while I was away other than a wolman bench on my back deck that had the hinged cover ripped right off! My friend on the other hand had his garage door buckle in the center of several panels and actually come off the tracks. His car was inside and his wife was unable to open it and get to work today before we got home.

The conditions for the marathon and other races were extreme. It was still very windy, cold and rainy. I'm not sure what the wind was exactly but something like 40-50k steady and gusting to 80k or so. At one point when running I had to cover with nose/mouth and slow because the wind was taking my breath away. I was quite amazed so many ran the full marathon. My friend won the marathon with about 150 participants. I ran the 5k and managed to eek out a 6th place overall of 222 people and second place male master. A slow time however but not a bad result for not having run a step in 3 months and only about a dozen runs in the past year.

Glad to see you made it back safely Deane. I'm also glad to hear you escaped with no damage to your place. The heavy winds didn't seem to start here until after midnight. I am not sure what speeds they reached, but they were howling pretty good.

Congrats on the 6th place finish!

Congrats Deane! Glad to hear the storm left your place alone for the most part...

Thanks everyone. We're happy about the place being intact. One half dead tree at the back of our property lost the top 12-15 feet or so. All of our windows are covering with a dirty greasy sort of film though.

Colin, so true about the running. Thanks.

^thanks Wayne. We lucked out here with this one. Some places had more damage and lots of power outages.
