Rogers Data Rates

I recently purchased an Iphone setup to use Rogers as the carrier. I do not use it with data as Rogers rates are 40 times plus higher than comparable rates in the U.S. Just one more thing to pi$$ me off. I will use the internet features when I have wifi access but not otherwise. Where is Robin Hood when you need him?

How do you like the iPhone so far? I'm considering buying an unlocked one because my 2 month old Blackberry Pearl is a POS that doesn't work half the time....

Anyways, sucks about the data rates... How's the coverage overall, though?

coverage in canada is pretty good overall... but i also agree that the rates are absolutely horrendous. the speed of our networks also suck *u know what* when compared overseas. it seems like all of north america is behind the times when it comes to cell tech. doesn't help that we pretty much have an oligopoly up here either.

IMO $25 for an 8MB crackberry data package is ridiculous when US residents get unlimited data for 20 pesos. It really sucks because I can't afford to use any of the cool apps.

Personally, I hate my Blackberry Pearl... the thing has had nothing but problems since I bought it... and T-Mobile won't replace it they keep telling me "we need to troubleshoot"! I don't have time to sit on the phone with them "Troubleshooting". First they told me I needed to update it to the latest firmware and it'll fix everything. Well, I updated it, and the same issues are there..... Blackberry FTL IMO.

I just got a Blackberry 8830 on Telus and absolutely love it. The built-in GPS is such a nice bonus, makes me glad I didn't spend $3k on the nav option. $25/month for unlimited data! But, I got onto a government plan through my IT provider.
