All for a nice profit I'm sure....
But, for those that don't want to jump through the hoops themselves, it might be an alternative.

No doubt at all. With pricing and currency currently that is a lucrative sector for sure. I was under the impression the price he quotes include his fee which still appears to be a good deal.

I have been following the threads with this middleman from Montreal for the last month and it certainly sounds like he would make the cross-border purchase much, much easier with a bit more cost to the buyer but with less worry and hassle.

No question about it. It's particularly interesting for someone looking for a used vehicle versus doing their own search through craiglist autotrader etc.

I didn't see his charges but that would be important to see.

From: Trolling a forum near u.... (T.O.)
here are the numbers i got a few months back for a 335i coupe.

From Importer:
$51000 x 1.02 (currency exchange)= $52020
(Please note the currency will fluctuate from day to day)
$52020 X .06 for GST= $3121.20
$ 52020 x 3% transaction fee for Auto Sales and Importation= $1560.60
$52020 x .065 for foreign sales tax= $3381.30
$206.70 for Canadian Tire Certificate= $206.70
$100 for daytime running light activation (if applicable)= $100
$102.58 for Safety and Standard Certificate= $102.58
$500 for BMW recall clearance letter= $500 (I will attempt to have this waived but BMW does charge for the recall clearance letter)
$500 transportation= $500
Total= $59931.78

obviously some things have changed now... like getting a new cluster etc. but it gives you a general idea of the charges.
