Finer weather on the way

With the all the cold weather and snow we've received to date I'm happier about the upcoming forecast for here.

Glad you guys are finally being let out of the deep freeze. Been embarrassingly nice here, hovering around zero, no precip (unfortunately, another brown Calgary Christmas) but it's all good because we have family traveling to see us today. Not sure I'd trade you for the rain, though.

Sounds good Deane, you guys deserve some nice weather.

It is mild here right now but the weather channel has snowsquall and high wind warnings posted for our area for later today. Figures, our son and his girlfriend have a 3 hour drive tonight and K and I have a 4.5 hour drive tomorrow morning.

Yeah, our forecast is very similiar Deane. You won't hear any complaints from me.

Thanks Wayne. Good safe traveling weather for your family.

It's 0 here now, sunny and rising rapidly.

I love seeing the rain when there is snow on the ground, especially when it's overnight too. I'll put the cars out tonight and get a free bath. We need to get rid of some of this white stuff that we usually don't have for Christmas.

Thanks Wayne.

I saw that early this morning on the tube. Here's hoping you're spared some of that weather. Have a safe trip for you folks and family.

The temp is currently sitting at 5.5C. It sure is a welcome change from the cold weather we've had lately. This was one of the colder Decembers in a long while.

Heck I guess I'm the odd one here , our snow has been melting and it is depressing for me. I would much rather have a White Christmas any day with temps just below freezing. I guess it's still the kid in me, thinking of sledding, skating etc through Christmas.

We've got over a foot of snow on the ground here so it will definitely be a white Christmas (the first one in a few years). It's just nice to have some warmer temps.

Same here with at least a foot of snow. We're sitting at 5.4 now here and rising. Even with rain tonight, and temps of +10 tomorrow we have zero chance of a green Christmas.

Weather forecasters have said this was our coldest December on record before it's even over. It's just so pleasant outside now.

Sounds good, Deane......You guys are going to get the warmth that's going thru here right now, and perhaps a little more than we have now.
It was most welcome here and got rid of a lot of snow and ice that lingered after the bad storms in the past weeks.

Enjoy it while it lasts.....

C.

Thanks Colin. Good stuff on your mini melt.

We know there's more cold and snow to come before the good stuff arrives again.

I take this back. We had rain and high winds overnight and it took away at least half of our snow. I was shocked to see how much went overnight. Right now, it's 8C and raining.......maybe we won't have a white Christmas after all.

That is exactly what happened with us Shane, that is why I made that statement earlier. It was actually shocking, a couple days ago we lost a good foot of snow due to the warmer temps and rain thru the night.
We got a dusting of snow last night but not much.
We are off for our out of town family visits shortly, the weather looks not too bad for travelling.
