I honestly can't think of one other vehicle that meets your criteria other than the Subie, Mitsu, Cooper S, and the Soltice/Sky. I'm stumped.

There is another at the show, to be released end of March that I think is flying under the radar.

It surprised the hell out of me at the show.
There was a 1er in white that I thought looked pretty damn good (remember it's a DD not the main squeeze)
Much better in person than pics.

With all the 135i talk I really didn't pay much attention to the 128i.
After check out the details.... it's going to be a great little car.
The "128" threw me at first.... it's actually the 3.0L with 230hp.
BMW lists 0-100 as 6.1sec (always conservative)
Mags are getting 5.7sec 0-60
Base $ 33,900 I wouldn't add much as a DD (hard to resist the sport pkg though, with the great seats & sport susp.)
weight is right around 3200, ....maybe a tick over (other numbers from BMW are laden including driver, luggage & 1/2 tank gas)
I think the 128i is a real sleeper with enough power & light enough to toss around.

It's a real pocket rocket, but I agree... if I was spending that much, I'd go the extra $ for a 335.
