Perhaps my expectations were too high, but that was unexpected having come from a 17 year old car... Still, new wheels are on order so the OE 3 season tires can be used for non-winter driving, and now that I don't need to fight the car all over the road, the driving experience is better. If only I'd waited for the '08 to get both AWD and flappy paddles...
