I think this was originally written in the Toronto Star, about 2-3 weeks ago.

I guess he had the car while it was in town for the car show. I wonder how he got temporary permits/insurance to drive it around.

At 82G & limited numbers, I highly doubt they'll have any sitting on the lot.

 

I disagree. Granted the GT-R will fetch a premium over MSRP regardless, but this is another example of how Infiniti Canada is refusing to recognize the new Canadian dollar strength.

Have you compared MSRPs for other models on infiniti.com vs. infiniti.ca? The difference is still rediculous!

 

Do you know of any car made selling at par here in Canada? Most anything I know of is higher here and more so the higher up the scale you go. Certainly our G's or Z's aren't even remotely close. This is at least closer than they are.

I agree. They'll sell them all very easily at that price or more.

 

Some are offering cashback incentives to offset the dollar (e.g., GM, Porsche).

If Infiniti Canada continues to turn a blind eye, I'm going to be buying my next G from a stealership in Detroit.

I know one guy that priced a lease on the new 135i that hits the showroom this month...
The lease was $55/m more than what it would cost to lease a 335i
the rate on the 335 is 3.9%
the 135 is 7.9%..
Now that's some seriously screwed up marketing
