Ya, the weekend was horrible for weather wise.
I went into Edmonton on Saturday's late afternoon. By the time I was on Highway 2 at Leduc, I hit a traffic jammed and I knew there was an accident ahead. Was stuck there for about 10 minutes so it wasn't bad.
After the fire department opened up the lanes, it turned out the accident was closed to Nisku. I saw 3 cars in the middle all banged up and 2 more SUV to the ditch on my right.
I thought it was kind of weird to see an accident but not a single RCMP around.
Drove a bit further to Edmonton and then I saw a lot of flashing red and blue on the other side of Highway 2 going to Calgary. I then realized all the RCMP must be over there. I was like damn! Traffic was back up for a few KM there.
I even saw a rescue helicopter there and lot of the fire trucks and their crews.
On my way back home on Sunday's afternoon, I saw another accident on Highway 2 going into Edmonton and at least 2 cars were in the ditch. The emergency crews were busy during the weekend, I can say that much.
I hope no one was seriously hurt but I can say the weather was a major factor. I am sure some people didn't drive properly or changed their winter tires too EARLY.
I won't change my tires till May just for safety reason.
