2004 Coupe, Driver Side Window Problems

Hey Guys,

Not sure if you guys can help me, but my driver side window stopped working yesterday. Its not going down at all, even when I open the door. Pressing the window button doesn't make any sounds like the motor is even working.

I've searched for this on the forum and on the web but I haven’t found anything helpful.

Anyone know what this could be? My passenger side window is functioning normally.

Hello

I had the same problem with my window, my window motor stopped working. Our cars are notorious for having this problem.

Heres something you can try, your window may not be fully dead just yet. Sit in the drivers seat and hold the power window down button, with the button held down open and close your door.

This will disrupt the motor and hopefully it will unseize. Keep in mind that this is a temporary solution only, eventually it will stop working all together and you'll have to replace the window motor.

When it comes to this and when you need a motor, you should check out partszone in the states. They provide a lifetime warranty on the motor. If you plan on keeping the vehicle for a while then definitely consider this.

Good luck and let us know how it works out for you.

Yes this is a common problem, I had the same issue with the passenger window when I got my car. I hit the window a few times and it went up, I took it to the dealership and got the motor replaced. The reason apparently is because our windows keep going up and down when we open and close our doors, thus when the window is not opened and closed fully for a long time the motor seizes up, at least thats what I was told.

^It's a motor that is undersized for the weight of the coupe window and the constant use upon door open/close. Sedans seem fine.
