Angry calgary gas prices

Better fill up in the next few days in the Calgary region. Gas prices are going to shoot up by Friday for the long weekend. Consider $1.33 cheap!

As my Maritime friend used to say 'a cow and a calf' (buck and a half). For Regular. I think I'm being conservative here. But yeah, the G is getting down under half, best fill 'er up by Thursday morning latest.

you guys are getting totally hosed out in alberta.. considering how much oil you're pumping out.

if fact, in general... we are all just getting hosed here in canada. i was in chicago over the weekend for business and it's is around .91$/L ... they're all bitching and complaining down there not to mention they're stealing our freaking oil.... it's madness !

They're (Gas station) aiming for $2.00/L this summer. 50% of that the cost is tax, damn government.

Actually tax on retail gasoline purchases in Canada ranges between about 21 and 43 percent based on current prices.

Tax Components:
1.) Provincial Excise Tax (flat rate) - $0.09-$0.209 per liter
2.) Federal Excise Tax (flat rate) - $0.10 per liter
3.) GST - 5%
4.) PST (if aplicable)

$128.9 for Prem (91) this morning with my 7 cent/litre Safeway discount. We'll see what it goes up to this weekend! IIRC, though, the last long weekend it didn't go up. I was shocked and stunned.

I use Shell V-Power exclusively because it's not ethanol blended.

As above, Safeway Premium due to the discount I get since my wife buys grocs there weekly. I do have a Shell close by and had been curious to try their 94. Also a Husky on Macleod that offers 93 or 94.

Put the pipe down and read the Shell sign again, V-Power is 91 octane.
