Saw Vic today at Simone Performance. The G spent the whole day there.
Tranny flush, spark plugs, Motul fues system clean treatment, belts replaced, Motul Gear oil 300, Throttle chamber service, synth oil change, air filter, then I got a call. You know it's not going to be good when the mechanic calls early. The brakes were pooched, ... Howk HPS pads and Rotors, caliper service.
Vic and Steve were very professional and friendly as were all staff. Except for the cost, it was a very good day. The G seemed to fly on the way home even though I travelled mostly at 120. On occasion, she had a mind of her own.
When I got home, I parked on my driveway which is fairly steep. The parking brake would not hold, and I had to put it in park as well to hold it. I don't usually have to do this and I don't like using the tranny for this.
I sent Vic a pm about the ebrake and he will adjust it a little tighter any time I'm in the area. I'll drop in just cuz he's a great guy to talk to.
Oh, yeah, the left compression rod needs to be replaced.

If it were my emergency brake, I'd not worry about it for these 2 weeks until you can get back to Vic's place.....You won't do any damage to the tranny in the interim.

Personally I'd rather the pressure was on the tranny rather than the brakes anyway...... but if you're worried about that, back onto your drive and apply the brake while pointing downhill. It will hold much better fronting down than fronting up.......
