Pics In-Cabin air Filter

Decided to post in a new thread to avoid scrolling.

I changed the in-cabin air filter this morning (took about 25 minutes) and took some pics. They are a little large, but I haven't figured out how to make them smaller on my camera yet.

I chose a Wix filter about $24CDN.

Gently pry up the passenger side door sill trim with a flathead screw driver from the carpet side and lift up. The trim pops out easily.

Remove the lower glove box cover. I gently used the flat time screw driver, pull downwards on the cover. Take out the two screws with a Phillips (star-tip)

Take off the the nut at the back of passenger side kick panel. Just use your hand to loosen it. Pop out the panel with the flat tip.

Pic with kick panel removed.

Take out the four screws on the lower glove box. Fiddle with the glove box a bit and it will drop down. For easier access unhook the white connector and the yellow one on the glove box. Take your time they come off easily.

Pic of the airfilter cover. Gently pry the right side of the cover with the flatip. It will pop out on one end. Then slide the cover towards the right and it comes out.

You can now see the filter. Obviously the previous owner of my car was a real hack.

The filter was nasty. Full of pollutants probably mostly car exhaust as the car was originally owned by someone in Toronto.

New filter in notice how there is a gap under the air filter.

Put the air cover filter back on. Make sure the fins on the back of the cover are at the bottom pointing towards the floor. Slide the tab on the cover into the left side slot and then push in. Voila, now put everything back together in reverse. Don't forget the two connectors white and yellow

Good DIY. Thanks for taking the time. Given your filter that was a worthwhile DIY.

Nice job....
FWIW, you can do a partial visual inspection from under the hood by removing the plastic trim(s) over the battery.
