Guelph Nissan/Infiniti is a highly reputable dealership and IMO one of the best of any dealerships I have ever dealt with. I don't believe they would sell something that they could not provide service on. At the very least the would go out of there way to arrange service through the nearest "certified" GTR dealer.
That article was posted back in April and clearly at the time only the large market dealerships where selected. Thing may have change since then.
Where did you hear/read that "Nissan Canada will not honor the warranty on US GTRs under any circumstances."

As great as the GTR is, shady situations like the one mentioned above are the reason some people still bust out the "It's still a Nissan" comment when speaking of the GTR.

Bringing the cars in from the US as used cars explains how they are getting around being able to sell them. Bonified GT-R dealers must have the special training and equipment and keep one in stock at all times for service customers use.

From the horse's mouth. I spoke to Nissan Canada about warranties on importing the GTR. Nissan has a very different import warranty policy than Infiniti, and for the GTR it is even more strict since dealership service staff must be specially trained. I'm going to give Guelph a call on Monday to see what they're looking to sell it for, and what they will do warranty wise. I'll post back on what I hear.

If you would...ask them who the leasing company is too...or does Nissan lease used, imported vehicles now?
Look forward to you post!

Well, that was annoying. Tried calling them this morning, but they said I would need to come out in person in order to have my questions answered regarding the GTR.

Actually, before I got my G35, I was looking at getting an S5 or GTR, but I didn't want to wait for a year, and not be guaranteed the colour I wanted. I'm not interested in leasing at Guelph's price, but I would buy at MSRP.

I do know a few people who would pay a premium for a GTR now.

Yes, I fully intend to buy a GTR probably in 2010 when I can get the specific colour I want.

Okay, I was only trying to clarify to see if you were a serious prospect for Guelph now on that car. I guess they have the right strategy getting people to come in if they have questions on the car.

G/L on getting your GT-R and the right colour. Hopefully there won't be mark up etc at that time either.

Thanks! I can't wait to get a black GTR. (Well, ok, I can - but only until 2010 )

Sure thing. Black is definitely nice on that car.

To be fair, I don't think it's to much to ask for a little info over the phone rather than driving for a couple hours (or more). I live near by and even I myself would consider phoning for some information first. Heck, it's a hour and a half round trip for me and I live 'close' by most standards. I think, if I where a salesperson, I would be happy to discuss a great car like this whenever I got the chance.
They had no problem at all discussing Infiniti prices with me, via phone and email when I was shopping last year and that was with Guelph, London and 2 Toronto area dealers. I know the GTR is more expensive but it's still just a car.
