Good Lord, You'd think with what we're paying now, anywhere in Canada, that there would be enough to satisfy any contingency (tax) plan that anyone could come up with.....

2.4 cents is a drop in the bucket for $1.50/litre gas. Don't know why people are up in arms when it rises more than that every week. That said, the gov't says it'll all come back to you. Riiiight.

damn gas prices !!

some gas stations got charged with price fixing in Quebec. the phone lines were tapped and that's what evidence they used.

i just wish they could get the rest of 'em. (price fixers, though i suppose that would just put the entire industry in jail..)

But that's just the start of it.... It will escalate from there.
With the double whammy of rising prices + a new tax....
It's enough to pi$$ off the Good Humor Man

^^ No argument with any of those points, but it seems there's a disproportionate outcry about this particular tax when all the OTHER taxes included in the price are sort of accepted. The part that pi$$es ME off is they can just DO it and there's sweet F-A we can do about it.

gas @ $1.53 this morning. the gas tax brought us over the $1.50 mark, we'd been hovering just under for weeks...

you should have seen the gas stations on Monday night (the night before the tax started). huge lineups of folks trying to get that last tank in prior to July 1st.

it's almost enough to make you wanna bury a 10000 litre tank and fill it up while it's "cheap".
