Question Anyone had a kidney infection before???

I think I might have one. I've been sick for 6 days with the runs, chills and sweats.
This morning I woke up to pain in my kidney area...off to the DR for some tests.
Had some blood work and a urine test done and booked an ultrasound for Monday.

Just was wondering if anyone had symptoms like I'm having?

Thx guys!!!

had one when I was a kid (about 10 yrs old). I can remember the most important thing the doctor said was to drink lots of water throughout the day.

they also prescribed a medicine that (as I remember) tasted and had the texture of vomit. I can remember countless times throwing that stuff up.

it went away quick though and nothing major ever happened to me (like a hospitalization or anything like that).

Bill, I asked Karen, she runs the lab here:

Some signs:
- painful and burning sensation when urinating
- blood in the urine
- cloudy urine
- difficulty urinating
- abdominal pain

Note: this could indicate a bladder infection, which could progress to kidney infection. All of these symptoms could also indicate a kidney stone which can be very painful.

Hope that helps.

Funny thing since I first posted this...I haven't had any pain in that area since around 4:30pm.

Wayne, thanks for asking Karen. The Dr said my urine was blood free but had a little "protein" in it.
I'm actually feeling the best I've been all week.

Hopefully the ultrasound will put my mind at ease on Monday.

Hmmmmm, Bill, have you been having unprotected sex? It has nothing to do with your symptoms, I was just curious.
