when u go to look at the car... make sure u try all the windows and door locks a few times to make sure the motors all work... also check out the leather around the seats ... they tend to crack and tear easily in those spots. when i dropped my car off for trade-in, i was shocked to see tears around the outside of the seat. my car was an '05 with less than 38k on the odometer. i found the leather really cheap and thin compared to my new car. for me personally... the quality on the car just was not there, maybe it was built on monday.
good luck on your car purchase.

edit: forgot to add.. if u plan on driving in the winter... don't forget to add another 1500-2000$ for a good set of winter rims/tires.
for a rough estimate what would you say for maintenance. insurence would be under my dad and me put as a second driver and all money made from working will go to the car.
Standard maintenance is generally brakes (1x per year max.), tires (1x every 2 or 3 years), oil (several times a year) and various other filters and fluids. Brakes and tires are expensive - try to buy a car with new/relatively new tires and brakes. Oil/filters/fluids are relatively cheap and need to be frequently replaced on any car. You're probably looking at about 500-750 dollars a year for maintenance (if you take the car to Infiniti - I would recommend this if you have a warrenty through Infiniti - Warrenty issues will not be questioned).
The bad thing (and more costly when compared to other, less expensive cars) about a G coupe is the cost of fuel. I fill up every time with 94 octane fuel (Chevron Supreme +) with an average cost of 100$ per tank. My other car is a 2003 Corolla and it costs ~40$ to fill the tank. My Corolla tank almost always outlasts (in terms of km's) my G tank (keep in mind fuel consumption is a function of how you drive the car - I tend to be a spirited driver in my G).
Hope this helps.

ok not as bad as I though. and for gas I wont have to fill up that much cause I'm really close to mervale road in Ottawa, about 5 minutes to everything you need to live. I also don't plan on driving heavy just light driving or if I have to go somewhere out of walking distance.
Some are good some are bad. Mine has been flawless. I've not even had the tiniest trace of an issue with it. I change the oil on it, put premium in it, and most of the time, drive it pretty hard. I also wash it regularly, clean the interior, take good care of it, etc.. I've had it for a bit over a year now, but did not buy it new. It's an 05 that I bought in August of 07. Mine still looks and drives the same as the day I bought it. I've also been monitoring the oil, as it is a revup, and it doesn't seem to consume any oil in my short change intervals (I do them at half the required, just cause)
I also have not had any problems with any gear synchros, any compression rods, or any other common fault. No unusual tire wear (and I break traction on a regular basis too, I drive the car with VDC OFF
)
It's been kick ***. I'd buy another one, but really, I wouldn't, I'd just keep this one, as there's nothing wrong with it.

What percentage of your daily drive do you keep traction in?
Cause I drive the car pretty hard, but rarely slide it, and I can get a lot more than one season out of a set of tires.

Falken FK-452 last me about 20,000KM.
The stock tires on the 19s I think they were Firestone I forgot what they were exactly but they only lasted about 10,000KM.
