I've stored mine for the last 3 winters, always in a heated garage... Some people take some pretty extreme measures on here...

I wash it, add fuel stabilizer, and keep a trickle charger on the battery (had to replace it the first year I stored it). Change the oil in spring.

It'll be parked for the winter in the next couple of weeks im guessing. Usually at the first sign of snow I put her away.

^While it may well be fine Infiniti doesn't recommend fuel stabilizer and neither does BMW.

I doubt they recommend leaving the same tank of fuel in the car for 5 months either

LOL. Probably not. It's about choosing the lesser of 2 evils and following what is recommended. In the BMW documents they refer to some procedures necessary if a car sits more than 6 months though. None refer to adding stabilizer or draining gas.

My storage is 4 months.

im getting my rust protection this week then storing it if it snows or goes under 0C*.

im very curious about the fuel additives since it will not be needing any and im just going to be driving it a few times a month when its not snowing just to keep all the parts moving. i hate driving a car that hasnt moved for months.

My is going down to the under ground by Nov 1st. Complete cleanup and oil change. I usually start it every other week while it's hibernating. It's going be a long wait until next spring.

i was thinking of putting the G for the winter as usual, started doing some math and last year's consequences, i might as well keep the car and drive with my winters on.

last year after the hibernation, my battery completely died(i had to replace it cost me 100 something bucks with labor), the fuel gauge thing got all screwed up now i cant fill my tank to the fullest(to fix it i think the cost is min another 100 bucks). i didnt know belair direct still charges you 60-70 bucks a month even you don't drive your car(part of vandalism and theft protection) and when the policy gets renewed they find another way to boost my insurance premiums. besides the engine not working (especially since my car is 2003) that long does have other effects as well.

so all in al i would save around 120 bucks a month for 4-5max months.(i walk to work so gas cost doesnt matter to me that much)

I would still stay away from snowy days and try to drive mostly on cold dry weather.

Unfortunately I'll be driving mine this Winter I had to sell off one vehicle to get rid of payments and with me out of work I can't afford another beater so the winter wheels will go on and she'll get undercoated/rust proofed, I'll take off my Nismo Grill and pray we have a smooth Winter like last year.

The good thing is if I stay home I don't really have to go out on the bad days and depending what job I get my Wife works 4 days a week so it will only get driven a max of 4 days. If I land a good Paying job then I'll see if I can scoop something up for a grand or so.

i live in uptown so as long as u r in gtr most of the time roads are pretty clean maybe only during the 1-2 days of heavy snow, usually the snow doesnt get to stay on the road that much inside the city. got to take the car to rust protection
