Have you treated all your weatherstipping with silicone or a good rubber preservative for the freezing winter months?
Nope. Guess I'll go buy some silicone, or do you have a recommended product/brand?

Do you have your winter mats in the car?
No. I'm going to just use up the carpeted ones until they become worn out then buy a new set of all weather ones.

Do you have your winter Emergency kit in the trunk?
Does a flashlight count ?

Are your winters on?
Going shopping with my dad at Sams Club perhaps when he gets back.

Do you have a good layer of wax or sealant on your winter wheels for protection?
Yup!

Is your snow brush and scraper in the trunk?
Yup!

Oh, and did you bag those leaves yet ?
SHHH!

Question, I was thinking of getting my car professionally detailed. Should I do it now or after winter?

If you have a good layer of sealant or wax on it now you should be okay to wait for Spring. If not Picus (Kevin) is the man to call ( http://gtaindetail.com/) for a Professional Detail, and tell him you are from driver.

For your weatherstripping I have some silicone grease that I rub into the rubber that works very well, but it takes time and is best done on a warm day so it soaks in and then I wipe off the excess. I have also used a silicone spray, Aerospace 303, and also have used Zaino tire treatment.. The best stuff that I have ever used was a silicone emulsioon that came in a bottle with a cotton applicator under the lid. I can't locate that anymore.

For a winter emergency kit in my trunk, I carry an emergency candle, warm blanket, booster cables, flashlight, spare gloves and hat, and a pair of old warm boots. I have used it before when the roads got so bad in the middle of no where, and I had to find a safe place to park and spend the night in the car until the roads got opened up the following day.

Hey thats the stuff Roman. I will check out the GM Dealers on Monday.
I like it since it really seems to preserve and make the weatherstripping non stick in the freezing weather. When I used to apply it, I would do it on a warm day and do all the weatherstripping and leave everything open for a couple of hours, then I would rub all of the weatherstripping down to remove any excess. I had a Suburban for 16 years that I used that on and the weatherstipping was as new when I sold it.
Thanks again.

Okay. I've compiled my emergency winter gear that will go in my trunk.

Emergency kit includes:

1) Winnie the Pooh blanket - Stole it from my sister. Gotta keep warm!
2) Winter hat and gloves
3) Good 'ol orange juice - Can't live without OJ
4) Twizzlers and Mr. Noodles -
5) Gum - gotta keep a fresh breath no matter what the situation is
6) Oh, my chemistry book. Might as well learn something if I'm stranded...

Don't forget to put this in your trunk in case you break down by the side of the road. So when your friendly neighbourhood police officer drops by you can say
" Hi orficer, I'm pissed and broke, I mean my piston broke".....

I'm up at McMaster right now spending the weekend with my friends . We went on a 4 hour trail in the forest surrounding the campus. Legs are killing me!
