Krown and Rust Check
yes, very worth it.
I have an 02 camry sprayed every year since day 1. not a speck of rust and the components under the car (linkages, brake lines, rockers, floors) are also in prstine condition.
If moneys an issue, do it once when you first get it, maybe even the second year after that, then skip a year doing it every other year afterwards. it will get a good soaking after 2 applications, enough to start skipping years and give you that protection you need.

Both companies are good. I have always used Rust Check. I don't use it on my G because I don't keep them any longer than 4 years max. But I use it on my other vehicle, a 1997 Z71 GMC. It is now 11 years old and rust free. I did it on my 4x4 Suburban and had it 16 years and it still looked awesome.
Not worth it though if you only keep a car a few years.

haha, smartass
I actually had the bottom of my 09 FX coated with Rust Check Coat and Protect underbody treatment. I'll get it done each year since it's cost is minimal.
My 08 GMC Z71 will get done every year with the full Rust Check treatment.

back on topic... yeah I completely agree with it for a long term car.
The condition of your old Z71 was testament to that, it looked fantastic for it's age!
BTW, Krown just built a new corporate HO in Schomberg. (my back yard)
