How I donate turkey?

So my work has a custom of giving out turkeys to all employees every Xmas. I however, don't actually like turkey, plus I live with my parents and they'll already have one anyway. I don't want to get into a long and drawn out explanation as to why I'm not taking the turkey though, so I figured I'll just take it and donate it. Someone must like eating these birds, there's a whole custom around it and everything.
I don't really care how needy or lack thereof the person it goes to is, as long as the thing gets eaten. I emigrated from a 3rd world nation when I was young, and I remember not having any food to eat at points in my life, so I refuse to ever let any food go to waste. I absolutely cringe when someone doesn't take home the food they don't finish at restaurants.

So, has anyone done this before? How do you give away a turkey? I also don't want to waste a significant amount of my time doing this, or go anywhere really far, as I am not a generous person by nature, I just want to make sure food is not wasted.

That would be very welcomed by one of your local Food Banks.
Give one a call and I'm sure they won't mind sending someone over to pick it up.

Kudos for thinking of the needy..

Colin.

The food bank may or may not take a frozen turkey. Call them first. One of the local Men's or Women's Shelters will likely take it as well.
