I recently was out of town for 2 weeks and my battery was still running strong when I got back (I left the battery connected). Doesn't hurt to disconnect it though (other than losing presets and clock). Just play it safe and disconnect it. I don't know if the cold weather in toronto would affect it. I'm sure someone with more knowledge about this subject will chime in. Happy Holidays

I'll be gone for 4 weeks in the new year and I'm leaving mine hooked up. You should be fine.
Have a great Christmas

No, I leave mine connected all winter while in storage and it seems to have 100% power in the spring. Disconnecting it for 3 weeks is total overkill.

Chris,

Don't worry about it. Just give one of us your car for the three weeks and we'll take great care of it...I'm sure she loves being driven in the snow .

i disconnect mine for the winter. If i dont mine dies in a week or two. I think it my grounding system that kills it. Its on all the time

^what is your grounding system that "is on all the time"?

IMO, if your battery dies in a week or two you have a defective battery, a ground fault or unusual power draw. You should have that looked into.

^^^I hope he doesn't mean the Security indicator light that blinks on the instrument panel. It is supposed to blink and the electrical draw is very minimal.
