Thoughts on 07 G35

I've been a long time G lover and am on the verge of stepping into one. I've owned a number of Maxima's and I'd like to move on and move up. I've been trying to find a good combination of G35 and price before I jump in and I think I'm finally there. Wondering if anyone could help me out with some advice.

A friend of mine is turning in his 07 G35X lease pretty soon. Its fully loaded with everything except the wood grain interior and has pretty low kms on it (22000 km). The residual on the car is roughly $33,000 + tax.

Similarly a 09 G35x on a two year lease carries a residual of roughly 28,000. I realize this is Infiniti Canada forecasting the value of the car to drop more because of the ongoing trouble the car industry is under but I can't help but wonder if the residual on this car in todays climate should be a couple of grand lower.

I understand that Infiniti (although trying to get out of lease business I hear) don't negotiate residuals on leases (like some GM dealerships) I'm hoping to negotiate a bit more out of my trade in.

Wondering if anyone could help me get a feel for how applicable this price is in todays market. Maybe I'm already haggling on a good deal but I'm not sure if I can afford it for what they're asking! I was initially looking at 05s but this car is in great shape and barely driven. I'm mighty tempted but though I'd turn to this forum for some help.

Thoughts, comments appreciated

well
these 2 almost the same
i dun own a sedan but it was my 1st pick be4 i got my coupe...

i would pick the newer one, since i assume ur gonna keep it for a while.
and with the eco influence, i think you can talk them down with a better price, becuz u hvae a HUGE choice of other same class cars....

PERSONALLY. either i would go for the 05 models...which i LOVE soo much
or just screw it and get a Brand new car....Cuz like u mention, ur frd's is not ur 1st choice, dont regrat after u got it n go like "Ah **** shouldve got a new one with the interior i like" lol

n wood grain interior blows-.-

or just wait a while longer till the 08 models go cheaper when they need to clearance it..=)
