K&N & Z-Tube

Can anyone tell me if the K&N drop in filter alone on its own adds any horses or power feel to the Coupe? Any sound differences. No other mods.

Next, if the Z-tube is combined with the K&N, does it make a noticeable difference in power, acceleration, sound?

Please help. Where to purchase and how much?

Re: K&N & Z-Tube

The K&N drop-in is now on sale at CDN Tire at 20% off I believe. The Z-tube can be had shipped from the US from various sources for as little as $75 USD plus S&H, etc. Or about $200 from your Nissan Dealer. Try to hook up with a local Z club and see if you can get one from an up-graded Z for less.

Re: K&N & Z Tube

Back to the Q- this is exactly the set-up I have (conservative, prefer to spend money on fuel and tires): Ztube, K&N drop in, and 5 wire grounding kit from Gord. I will say that in combo, there is a very noticeable difference in performance and the sound, while not obtrusive, has more authority. My 5AT will spin the pilot sports thru 3rd (used to be first only, but I will suggest that, while I probably have more rubber touching the ground at 20K kms, the tires are nearing the end of their life, so they are likely a bit harder too.) For me the most readily apparent difference is how much cleaner the carburetion is. The engine is silky smooth from idle to redline, and it most certainly was not before these small mods. Revs rise and fall quickly without sputter or gurgle (used to be a noticeable gurgle on rev drop when blipping the throttle or gearing down).
Very happy with these changes.
